Abigail Lynch

Abigail (Abby) J. Lynch is a Research Fish Biologist with the U.S. Geological Survey's National Climate Adaptation Science Center. Abby conducts science and science synthesis on the impacts of global change to inland fishes at local, national, and global scales. Her work aims to inform conservation and sustainable use and assist fishers, managers, and other practitioners adapt to change.

Abby is adjunct/affiliate faculty at Michigan State UniversityNew Mexico State University, and North Carolina State University. She serves as the coordinator for the international 'InFish' research network and a steward for the Fish and Climate Change Database (FiCli).  Abby is also a member of the IUCN Freshwater Fish Specialist Group, the International Steering Committee for the UN International Year of Artisanal Fisheries and Aquaculture 2022, and the 2021 World Fisheries Congress International Program Committee.

John Valbo Jørgensen

John is currently Fisheries Resources Officer (inland fisheries) at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), based in Rome. During his 20 year career John has mostly worked on inland fisheries and has hands-on experience from some of the world’s major river basins including the Orinoco, Mekong and Ganges. During this time he has been involved with fisheries projects all over the world and has been actively engaging with several regional fisheries bodies. 

John’s research interests are very broad, and he has published scientific and popular media on subjects such as fish migrations, larval drift, fisheries value chains and fish consumption surveys, fisheries assessments, and the use of local knowledge for fisheries management.
